Duramont Chairs Review: The Best Mid-Range Ergonomic Chairs Available?

If you’re looking for a mid range ergonomic chair, Duramont is a chair brand that definitely worth considering.

The company has sold a ton of chairs in the US and has built up some very credible reviews online.

In this review, I’ll take a good look at their office chairs and decide whether they’re the best choice on the market.

I’ll also mention some very similar chairs that are also worth considering.

Duramont was founded back in May 2017 under the name ‘The Brafman Group Inc’. The same owners also hold ‘Brafman Enterprises LLC’.

Both corporations import office chairs from ‘Ningbo Nice Commodity CO Ltd’ located in China. In 2020 they shipped 116 containers of chairs to the US each containing 400 office chairs.

Duramont has been selling products on Amazon since 2017 and aside from office chairs they also sell storage & food containers, bathtub trays, and more.

The Duramont Ergonomic Office Chair was upholstered with mesh to keep your body cool while you work. There are also many adjustable features on this chair that provide increased comfort.

The seat on this chair is contoured and can be lifted from 16.5’’ to 20.8’’ off the floor. The backrest can be tilted up to 120 degrees and locked in place.

There is lumbar support on this model and it can be moved up and down or adjusted for depth. It also does a fairly good job of providing comfort while you sit.

The arms can be moved up and down as well but they can’t be flipped out of the way. They are padded and easy on the elbows.

What we really liked is its large rollerblade wheels that are of very good quality and roll smoothly even on carpet.

Assembly

Assembling this chair might be a bit of a challenge because there are lots of parts to put together. However you’ll get everything necessary to build it included in the package.

To make things easier, spread out all the parts on the ground before putting them together. It is important to note that there are 2 adjustments you’ll need to make while assembling the chair.

The first one is the width of the arms and the second one is the depth of the seat.

What We Like

  • Comfortable and cushioned seat & arms
  • Highly adjustable
  • Decent price range
  • Rollerblade wheels perform well

What We Don’t Like

  • Arms can’t be flipped out of the way

Duramont Reclining Leather Office Chair

Duramont Reclining Leather Office Chair

  • Reclines to 155 degrees
  • Retractable footrest
  • Bonded leather upholstery
  • Built-in lumbar support
  • Weight capacity of 250 lbs

We really liked the executive look of this reclining chair. This model was made for comfort and offers some amazing adjustable features.

The chair features bonded leather upholstery that feels soft on the skin. This material is made using shreds of genuine leather that are glued together to provide a cost-effective leather chair.

This model reclines to an angle of 155 degrees which is enough to take a nap. To add to that experience the manufacturer has also included a retractable footrest under the seat.

To recline in this chair you pull a lever on the left of the chair and you can lock it in any position by pushing the lever back in.

Ergonomics

Both the backrest and the seat are cushioned and the seat comes with a waterfall edge that relieves the pressure off your legs while working long hours.

The only thing in this chair that needs additional work is the lumbar support which can be adjusted for tension, but most people feel it is not enough. They solve this issue by adding a lumbar pillow.

Overall it is a nice looking chair and comes with a 1-year warranty.

What We Like

  • Soft upholstery
  • Cushioned seat and backrest
  • Reclines for comfort
  • Retractable footrest

What We Don’t Like

  • Not enough lumbar support

Duramont Ergonomic Office Chair With Lumbar Support

Duramont Ergonomic Office Chair With Lumbar Support

  • “Live” lumbar support
  • Highly adjustable
  • Weight capacity of 250 lbs
  • Reclines to 135 degrees

This Duramont Office Chair comes with plenty of adjustable features and a ‘live’ lumbar support that follows your movements.

The chair also features 3D armrests, meaning they can be adjusted for height, width, or swiveled to the sides. The only downside is that they can’t be locked in place which may annoy some people.

Although if you wish, you can omit the arms during the assembly and it won’t compromise the structure of the chair.

The lumbar support is not adjustable but it responds to your body’s movements. Most people love this feature and feel the lumbar provides just the right support needed.

This model will also be great for hot climates because it is upholstered in mesh and will keep your body cool while you work.

Adjustability

The backrest is concaved to hug your body when you sit and it feels great when you recline up to 135 degrees.

The adjustable headrest is another plus on this model and most people agree it feels comfortable on your head. If you wish you can remove the headrest as well – it comes out easy.

The seat is cushioned and can be raised from 18.9 to 22’’ tall. This model will hold people up to 250 lbs. At the moment Duramont offers a lifetime warranty for this chair.

What We Like

  • Mesh keeps your body cool
  • Lots of adjustable features
  • Comfortable headrest

What We Don’t Like

  • Arms can’t be locked

NOUHAUS Ergo3D Ergonomic Office Chair

The NOUHAUS Ergo3D looks similar to the Duramont ergonomic office chair with lumbar support. Both are made of mesh, but the NOUHAUS is a bit more comfortable for long working hours.

The lumbar support is also not adjustable but it is springy and follows your movements.

The standard wheels are also the same for both chairs, but the NOUHAUS comes with an extra set of rollerblade wheels that roll smoothly over carpeted areas.

Adjustability

The arms on this model can also be moved in 3 directions, up and down, back and forth, and swivel. The backrest reclines to an angle of 135 degrees and the headrest provides comfort.

The base on the NOUHAUS chair is superior and made from iron alloy. This model will hold up to 275 lbs of weight.

Overall we liked the design and performance of the NOUHAUS chair a bit more than the Duramont.

SIDIZ T50 Highly Adjustable Ergonomic Office Chair

If you’re on the hunt for a perfectly executed design consider the SIDIZ T50. This chair was created in South Korea and is well known among the gaming community for its quality and comfort.

The backrest of the SIDIZ T50 follows your movement and reclines to 5 tilting angles. Once you’re back into an upright position it moves back with you.

The arms are adjustable for height and depth and they swivel to the sides. They are padded and feel comfortable for the elbows.

What we really liked is the comfort of the padded seat that can be adjusted for height but also slides and slopes forward placing you into active working mode.

Most people love this feature and feel that it’s making them more focused and productive. The lumbar support on the SIDIZ T50 is made well and can be adjusted for height and depth.

WorkPro(R) Quantum 9000 Series

We had to include the WorkPro 9000 on our list because most people who got it say it comes very close to the Aeron chair, only at half the price. Some even refer to it as the ‘Cadillac’ of office chairs.

The seat on the WorkPro chair is adjustable for height and angle, plus it slides back and forth allowing comfort for a wider variety of body types.

It’s a waterfall type of seat that keeps the pressure off your legs. The mesh feels comfortable when you sit in it and it will keep you cool while you work.

The construction on the WorkPro chair is solid and should last you a long time. Overall this is a great chair for long days at the office.

Ergohuman High Back Swivel Chair With Headrest

The Ergohuman swivel chair was made to follow the curvature of your spine as closely as possible. Once you have it in front of you, you’ll notice its strong build and heavy-duty construction.

The mesh feels good on your body and does a good job of ventilating your body while you work, however, some people feel it’s too springy and doesn’t offer proper support.

The headrest feels good and the lumbar support is great as it follows your every move as you change positions during the workday.

The armrests on this model might need some additional work as they tend to shift away when you try to lean your arms against them.

HON Ignition 2.0 Mid-Back Mesh Chair

We really liked the sleek design of the HON Ignition 2.0 office chair. It comes with a clean line, no protruding parts and most people love how it looks in their office.

The chair comes with breathable mesh and 2 layers of padding on the seat that’s also upholstered with mesh. The seat is adjustable for height and goes from 17 ⅛” up to 21 ½”  off the floor.

It can also be moved back and forth and locked in any position. The adjustable lumbar support is optional and can be moved up and down but doesn’t adjust for depth.

The chair reclines a bit and can be locked. The construction of this model is the strongest on our list and will hold people up to 300 lbs. It was designed and constructed in the US.

The Duramont brand of chairs seems to only be collaborating with Amazon. They have no website, customer support email, or phone number.

So if you have any issues you’ll have to contact them through Amazon. Their chairs were assembled in China and provide a decent quality for their price range.

Most of the people that bought a Duramont chair are happy with their purchase and at the moment you get a lifetime warranty on certain models.

This is a good entry chair that should last you a long time so we would say go for it.
