Sihoo Ergonomic Chairs Review

Looking for the perfect ergonomic chair that’s not too expensive?

Well if you’ve done any research online, you’ll that Sihoo has a range of affordable ergonomic chairs.

But how good are the ergonomics and quality on their chairs?

In this article, I’ll do an in-depth review of their range of chairs and also decide whether they’re a good choice.

Sihoo was founded in 2011 but started selling on Amazon in 2014. They specialize in manufacturing professional office furniture and are located in Guangdong, China.

Their factory employs 300 workers and they produce 45000 chairs each month. Along with manufacturing, Sihoo also designs their furniture and has a quality inspection team on hand.

Sihoo became a lot more popular in 2019 after issuing a white paper on ‘Sedentary Behavior in the Chinese Workplace’ and hiring the popular Yan Yikuan as their brand ambassador.

Sihoo Ergonomics Office Chair

  • Adjustable features
  • Reclines to 125º
  • Breathable mesh upholstery

If you’re looking for a great ergonomic chair overall, Sihoo has something for you. Although the brand name is not very popular, they are drawing attention based on their fantastic prices.

Also, once people do receive the chair it usually exceeds their expectations. What makes this chair truly ergonomic is a combination of a few factors.

The backrest is shaped like the letter S to follow the curve of your spine. You can adjust the lumbar support in a 2D space for height and depth, giving much needed support to your lower back.

Additionally, the arms are well made and can be adjusted for height. The chair reclines to 125º but you’ll have to preset the maximum recline distance, and you can’t lock it in place while reclining.

Durability and comfort

The base is made of metal, ensuring the integrity and durability of the chair. If you’re like me you probably hate plastic bases since they look cheap.

One word of caution, this chair was designed for people of average height, so if you’re under 5’3’’ or over 6’2’’, the headrest won’t fit your needs.

Overall the mesh upholstery is breathable and will keep you cool, but what’s more important is the comfort of this chair. Most people that use it say it’s the most comfortable chair they’ve owned.

Assembly is easy, the instructions come clear, and setting it up should take you less than 15 minutes.

What We Like

  • Comfortable for sitting
  • Durable metal base
  • Lots of ergonomic features

Sihoo Ergonomics Office Chair Recliner Chair

Sihoo Ergonomics Office Chair Recliner Chair

  • Retractable footrest
  • Reclines to 125º
  • Silent wheels
  • Maximum weight capacity of 330 lbs

If your primary motivation for buying a new office chair is to have the ability to relax in it, the Sihoo Recliner Chair is a great option to consider.

It reclines up to 125º, can be locked in any position, rocks, and comes with a retractable footrest. In terms of ergonomic features, this chair offers plenty.

The headrest can be lifted or positioned at an angle. The lumbar support is adjustable for depth and height, and the arms can be raised up.

If you want you can adjust the width of the arms by 1” during assembly,’ or remove them completely.

You also get the standard seat height adjustment that goes from 16.96’’ to 20.87’’ off the floor.

Comfort

With regards to comfort, the seat is 20’’ wide and features contoured foam that’s not hard. People that have used it for over a year say it is comfortable even after long hours.

Just like the previous chair on the list, this one also comes with height restrictions and will be comfortable for people 5’3’’ up to 6’2’’ tall.

The majority of people that bought this recliner chair consider it well worth the money.

What We Like

  • Footrest allows complete relaxation
  • Smooth recline function
  • Comfortable seat

What We Don’t Like

  • Height restrictions due to headrest

Sihoo Office Chair With Adjustable Lumbar Support

Sihoo Office Chair With Adjustable Lumbar Support

  • Highly adjustable lumbar support
  • Pull out footrest
  • Ultra wide headrest

For people who have issues with their lower back and need that extra support, Sihoo has designed the ultimate lumbar solution.

The backrest on this model was designed with a slightly bigger curvature than most models on the market, and the lumbar support can be adjusted for width quite substantially.

Don’t get me wrong, this office chair has a lot more to offer, including a whopping recline angle of 170º, and a telescopic footrest.

What’s really unique about this chair though is the ultra wide headrest that’s almost as wide as the chair itself.

Durability

This model comes with an extra strong chassis that has been tested against explosions with success. It will hold people up to 330 lbs.

The footrest was also designed to be strong and can support up to 66 lbs of weight.

I was happy to see that Sihoo has added the height restriction in their description for this model and it’s below 6’3’’ tall.

So if you’re over that height you won’t reap the full benefits of the headrest and the footrest.

What We Like

  • Great lumbar support
  • High recline range
  • Comfortable headrest

What We Don’t Like

  • Not made for taller people

Sihoo Office Mesh Chair

Sihoo Office Mesh Chair

  • Reinforced mesh material
  • Adjustable features
  • Maximum weight capacity of 330 lbs

This particular Sihoo model comes with a reinforced mesh that should last at least 3 times longer than standard mesh chairs. It is still breathable and will keep your body cool.

Aside from the thick mesh, this chair has some awesome adjustable features. The arms move in 3 ways, you can raise them with 2.7’’ of wiggle room, push them forward or slide them in and out.

You can also decide to remove them in the assembly process and it won’t be detrimental to the integrity of the chair. The included headrest is adjustable for height and angle.

The highest it will go is 29’’ from the seat, making it a good choice for people up to 6’2’’. The headrest can be used while you’re resting or reclining but won’t give you full support while typing.

The chair has synchro tilt meaning if you recline by 30º the seat also tilts by 10º. It can be locked in any reclined position.

Comfort

Just like all other Sihoo models on our list, this one also comes with adjustable lumbar support that can be moved up and down by 1.9’,’ or front to back by 1.2’’.

The seat is comfortable and height adjustable, as you can raise it from 17’’ to 19.3’’ off the floor.

It was designed in the shape of an arc allowing you to get closer to the backrest on one side, and giving you a waterfall edge on the other.

The base of this chair was made of aluminum and will successfully hold people up to 330 lbs.

What We Like

  • Durable mesh
  • Comfortable seat
  • Headrest and arms perform well

What We Don’t Like

  • Not for people over 6’2’’ tall

Sihoo Mesh Office Chair

Sihoo Mesh Office Chair

  • Flip up arms
  • Adjustable lumbar support
  • Reclines to 120º
  • Maximum weight capacity of 330 lbs

This model is a hybrid between a mid-back and high-back chair. The backrest is curved to follow the shape of your spine and it comes with some lumbar support that can be adjusted for height.

The height adjustment on the lumbar is nothing to go crazy about as it only moves about an inch, but if you’re below 5’8’’ tall it will do its job.

The backrest reclines to 120º and you’ll be able to rock in this chair, but you won’t be able to lock it in place while reclined. It only locks in the upright position.

Comfort

With regards to comfort, you’ll get a 2.5’’ thick seat padded with high density sponge that’s comfortable for about 3-4 hours.

The casters that come with the chair perform pretty well both on flat surfaces and on rugs. You can always replace them with rollerblade wheels if you need the chair to go higher.

The assembly instructions that come with the package are clear and translated into multiple languages. Setting up the chair is easy and should take you around 20 minutes.

Overall, I was really impressed with the performance of this chair, and you should have a good experience as long as you understand its height limitations.

What We Like

  • Budget friendly price
  • Adjustable lumbar
  • Comfortable seat

What We Don’t Like

  • Not for people over 5’8’’ tall

HON Ignition 2.0 Mid-Back Adjustable Mesh Chair

The HON 2.0 model is one of those chairs that half of the people love and the other half hates. Let’s look at their reasons:

On the positive side, the HON 2.0 comes with a superior Illra mesh that has elastic properties and stretches in 4 directions giving you a more comfortable overall experience.

The backrest reclines and can be adjusted for height. The seat slides back and forth for a change of depth, and it is 20’’ wide. It can also be raised from 17.1’ to 21.5’’, which is taller than usual.

This is the biggest downside of this chair. It was designed too big, and you’ll need to be over 6’ tall to place your feet flat on the ground.

Also, the arms are adjustable for height and width, but the mechanism is not as smooth as it should be for this price point.

Lumbar support

Another thing people dislike is the optional lumbar support that comes at an extra charge if you choose it.

The lumbar itself is pretty good and will support you as long as you are over that 6’ height limit.

Clatina Ergonomic High Swivel Executive Chair

Clatina might not be as famous as HON but their chairs do provide more value for the price and perform even better.

One of the improvements this company made recently that people loved was adding some inches to the seat cushion.

Now they offer a truly comfortable seat that can be raised from 17’’ to 21’’ from the floor. It also slides front to back, adding 3.15’’ of depth to your seat.

The Clatina chair comes with adjustable lumbar support, combined with the sliding seat. This allows you to get closer to the backrest and experience true lower back support.

This chair will be comfortable for people 5’2’’ – 6’5’’ tall, and will provide support even after long hours of work.

Ticova Ergonomic Office Chair

Ticova is another company that isn’t well-known yet actually produces some sweet ergonomic chairs that won’t break the bank.

The feature on this chair that I personally love is the active lumbar support that comes with a high elastic spring.

This type of lumbar follows your movement as you change positions, but it needs to be set in the right spot.

This is where this chair shines because the backrest is also adjustable for height and will help you position the lumbar better with 1.57’’ of wiggle room.

Comfort

The seat is 20’’ wide and can be adjusted for depth. The sponge inside the seat was molded in the shape of the letter W for a better fit.

The arms are also molded and adjustable for height and come with thick padding that feels good under your arms.

Overall, people that buy this chair don’t expect much but are pleasantly surprised with its comfort and support.

Nouhaus Ergo3D Ergonomic Office Chair

The Nouhaus Ergo3D chair features active lumbar support that you can’t adjust the height.

The arms move in a 4D space (height, width, depth, and pivot), but some people complain that the pivot function gets in the way constantly. In other words, the pivot function cannot be locked.

The backrest reclines to 135º and works with a synchro tilt in a 2:1 ratio, so if you recline 20º the seat follows by 10º.

The chair also features an ElastoMesh that is elastic and firm at the same time and does a good job of supporting your body while it keeps you cool.

The Sidiz T50 is a pretty awesome chair manufactured in South Korea by a team of experts that invest in research & new technology.

Although it looks lightweight, it is a sturdy chair that will successfully hold users up to 300 lbs. The seat is 19.3’’ wide, which will be comfortable for average sized adults.

It slides and it slopes, 2 features that most people love, but I have to mention that the seat is on the firm side. This will be fine for some, while others feel the need to place a cushion underneath.

The Sidiz T50 comes with lumbar support that can be adjusted for height and depth. The only thing missing would be a headrest, but you can order that additionally if needed.

The backrest reclines and can be locked in 5 preset positions, but you can’t lock it in place as you recline. It is 23’’ long and features mesh material that keeps your back cool.

Also, all the tools and small pieces come in separate bags and they include all the tools necessary for assembly, as well as extra hardware, and a pair of gloves for your convenience.

Their customer service can be contacted via Amazon and they are extremely responsive. If you encounter any issue with their chairs within one year of purchase they have you covered.
