NordicTrack Treadmills Review: The Best Option?

NordicTrack Treadmills Review: The Best Option?

Working in gyms for overs 15 years, I’ve personally used over 40 different types of high quality treadmills.

And while I’m no authority on treadmills, I know a lot about them and what people should look for when buying one.

NordicTrack in my opinion is one of those treadmill brands you should definitely consider.

Their treadmills combine excellent quality, technology, connectivity, at a very reasonable price.

In this review, I’ll take a look at the company and their range of treadmills.

NordicTrack is a company from Minnesota, a state with extreme temperatures. So it’s no surprise that NordicTrack specialized in cardio equipment to train indoors.

However, if you’re not running or walking outdoors, you might want to replace the natural landscape with some other type of entertainment.

If so, NordicTrack is the best option for that. They have machines with engaging and dynamic training systems that people love.

They also include a platform that streams on-demand coaching known as iFit, which will turn your exercise from a repetitive task into a challenging experience.

NordicTrack 6.5 Si T Series Treadmill

NordicTrack 6.5 Si T Series Treadmill

  • Includes a 1-year free membership to the iFit coaching system with instant access
  • Includes a 10” touchscreen to stream your iFit workout videos
  • Features incline control up to 10%
  • OneTouch speed control, adjustable to 10 MPH
  • Foldable with EasyLift Assist to make it safer and more comfortable
  • 20x50” shock absorbing running deck
  • Includes a 10-year warranty on the frame and 2 years on smaller parts

This is one of NordicTrack’s entry models, but it’s still extremely robust with interactive personal coaching and a fancy HD touchscreen.

The 6.5 Si is an excellent choice for home gyms because it is easily foldable with a safe lift system that gets the job done within a few seconds.

You’ll get up to 10 MPH of speed and an incline option of up to 10%. The weight limit of 300 lbs is also appropriate for bigger users.

As with most NordicTrack treadmill models, you get a 1-year subscription to the iFit coaching system, which includes a variety of workout options.

After the free trial, you will have the option of keeping the subscription for $15 a month, or you can keep on using the treadmill without iFit.

What customers are saying

Customer reviews of this treadmill are mostly excellent, and most people say sturdiness is one of its top features.

They also say it is very easy to fold, versatile, and engaging when you use the iFit workouts.

Most bad reviews revolve around the iFit subscription, which is not required to use the treadmill, you can skip the iFit login by simply holding the iFit logo down for 30 seconds.

Other T Series Treadmills

NordicTrack is always improving and giving more options to its users. That’s why you will find other models in the T series with different variants but the same basic function.

For example, the T 8.5 S model upgrades the experience a bit by giving you an incline option of up to 12% instead of only 10%, and speeds of up to 12 MPH instead of 10 MPH.

The running belt is slightly larger (20×60”), but the other features are almost the same.

For technology junkies that want a larger screen, the 9.5 model is one of the best, it has a 14” touchscreen, a 20×60” running belt, 12% incline, and up to 12 MPH running speed.

Alternatively, if you have a limited budget for a treadmill, you can also choose a simpler option, with a 5” screen, 10% incline option, and up to 10 MPH running speed.

The NordicTrack Commercial Series offers similar features to those found in the T series. It does have some important differences, though. For example:

  • The commercial series has wider tracks with more space to run at higher speeds
  • It also has a superior shock-absorbing technology to protect your joints
  • The construction is made for commercial purposes. It is very stable and sturdy
  • It offers improved levels of inclines, with an additional decline option not found in the T series

NordicTrack 1750 Commercial Series Treadmill

NordicTrack 1750 Commercial Series Treadmill

  • Includes a 1-year free membership to the iFit coaching system with instant access
  • Includes a 10” touchscreen to stream your iFit workout videos
  • Features incline control from -3 up to 15%
  • OneTouch speed control, adjustable up to 12 MPH
  • Foldable with EasyLift Assist to make it safer and more comfortable for users
  • 22x60” shock-absorbing running deck with Runners Flex technology
  • 300 lbs of maximum user weight
  • Includes a 10-year warranty on the frame and 2 years on smaller parts

As the name implies, this treadmill can be used for commercial purposes. It’s very sturdy with all of the functions you’d expect from high quality cardio machines at a modern gym.

However, it is also adapted to use in a home gym with a foldable feature that saves space in your home when you’re done using the treadmill.

This is one of the few treadmills that offer a decline option of -3%, along with an incline option (up to 15%).

You will love the 10’ touchscreen, specially designed to stream your iFit coaching videos, with a variety of workouts.

What customers are saying

People who buy this treadmill usually leave very positive reviews, and most of them praise the iFit technology, saying it’s extremely engaging and versatile.

Sturdiness is also one of the top features, and customers have repeatedly mentioned that it is easy to fold and very safe.

On the downside, some people do not like the idea of a paid subscription after 1 year, but you can always keep using the treadmill without using iFit.

Other Commercial Series Treadmills

Apart from the 1750 model, NordicTrack has upgraded the commercial series with 2 additional variants. They include the 2450 and 2950 models.

The commercial 2450 treadmill by NordicTrack has a 14” touchscreen, and the commercial 2950 treadmill has a 22” touchscreen as well as additional high precision non flex rollers.

If you’re serious about uphill jogging and really need incline options to maximize your treadmill experience, the Commercial Incline Series is probably the best option for you.

This series features speeds of up to 12 MPH, similar to the classic commercial models reviewed above.

However, the main difference in these models is a very steep incline setting of up to 40% and a decline setting of -6%.

With such an incline level, you can maximize your calorie burn and speed up your weight loss. Here are more valuable features in the commercial incline series:

  • Includes iFit and has 50 pre-programmed workouts as an alternative
  • The horsepower rating is very potent, lingering between 3.75 and 4.25
  • Bluetooth connection with wireless monitoring of your heart rate
  • Extra large touchscreens of 10” to 32” depending on the model
  • 10-year warranty on the frame and 2-year warranty on smaller parts
  • Includes a Google Map workout technology to run around the globe without leaving your home

The iFit coaching program is probably one of the most widely acclaimed features by NordicTrack.

It is directly connected to your treadmill and offers a variety of workouts led by personal trainers.

You only have to pay attention to the instructions and you’ll see how the settings automatically change, as if your instructor was there, making the changes for you.

Features

The iFit coaching program features different modes, including live workouts, global workouts, studio classes, and even full body training if you choose a cross training option.

If you don’t like the style or tone of a trainer, you can choose another from a long list of more than 130 coaches.

Also, if you’re into competition, the iFit system features a leaderboard with an active community.

You can also activate a function in live workouts to go head to head with online members of the community.

NordicTrack’s indoor equipment is a great option, especially if you’re planning to use iFit.

But even if you’re not, your treadmill model can operate perfectly without it.

These are very sturdy and reliable machines with different modes and adjustment options.

They are also adapted for home use with a foldable feature that increases your available space when not in use.

Thus, we recommend buying NordicTrack if you have the budget for an extremely resistant and stable treadmill that is equipped with high-tech features and has a modern look.

Customer experiences are in general very positive, and most negative reviews come from people who didn’t know they had an option to use the machine without an iFit subscription.
