Best Office Partition
S Stand Up ReFocus Acoustic Room Divider
- 3 panel deal
- Absorbs 85% of sound
- Flexible 1’’ walls
- 100% recycled woven fabric walls
Just like the name suggests, this acoustic 3 fold room divider can stand on its own. It features a PET core and an outer woven fabric wall that you can attach various pins on like a bulletin board.
If you decide you need more partitions, you can always order a single wall and attach it to the others with the help of a zipper.
Some people have complained that the zippers are difficult to handle, so that’s one thing this company should improve.
Sound absorption
The panels are manufactured acoustic, to reduce the sound that passes through them by 85%. This has been tested by customers and seems to work, just not to that degree.
If you don’t have other noise absorbing materials in your office like carpets or curtains, these alone won’t do the trick.
The acoustic room dividers were created to give you privacy from prying eyes. Whatever color you choose, they’re not transparent, even the cool gray that we liked.
All the panels can be separated to stand on their own, but since they are flexible, you could also stack or bend them to create a circle.
What We Like
- A less noisy workplace
- Can stand on their own
- You can stack extra single panels
What We Don’t Like
- Zippers need an upgrade
Best Home Office Cubicle
Bonnlo Upgraded HeavyRattan Room Divider
- 6 panels
- Hand woven rustic pattern
- Plenty of shelves
- Maximum width 98’’
If you’re looking for an attractive room divider that will be both tall and durable, consider the Bonnlo 6 panel room divider. It’s made with a wooden frame and handwoven rattan design.
The wooden frame definitely adds to its sturdiness but that has a downside as well.
You can change one room into two separate areas with this divider, but you can’t bend it or create other shapes since the panels are rigid.
What customers are saying
The thing most people love about this room divider is its versatility. It features a lot of shelves that allow you to customize the office to your liking.
The shelves are the only thing you need to install upon arrival by simply sliding them in, but you could also omit them completely.
Some people use the divider upside-down so they can hang stuff on the legs. The Bonnlo room divider is sturdy and performs well on carpet.
Most people that got it would recommend it for sure. The only complaint customers have had is the condition in which the package arrives, as it’s usually pretty beaten up.
What We Like
- Easy to store
- Versatile and practical
- Sturdy on carpet
What We Don’t Like
- Panels don’t bend
Best Rolling Partition
Versare VP6 Economical Rolling Room Divider
- 6’ x 6’ steel frame
- Cotton fabric single panel
- Swivel wheels
Sometimes all you need is a single panel that can be wheeled around to get the job done, and that’s exactly what the company Versare offers.
Their economical room divider was made with a strong steel frame that will last a really long time, and the cotton canvas-like sheet that’s wrapped around the frame is replaceable.
It is held in place with Velcro, which is pretty awesome, and it’s easy to maintain. With regards to mobility, this room divider is great but don’t expect to stack it with other panels.
While it works great on its own it wouldn’t be possible to create a corner with two panels since they would overlap at the wheels. Also, the wheels do not lock, so keep that in mind.
What customers are saying
Most of the people that got this product comment on the smoothness of its walls, and how great the wheels perform, even on thick carpet.
The assembly process is easy. All you’ll need to do is insert 6 screws, tighten them, and stretch the sheet over the frame.
What We Like
- It rolls with ease
- Easy to maintain and replace
- Sturdy & durable
What We Don’t Like
- Can’t stack it
Best Modern Office Partition
NBF Espresso Laminate Warm Ash Room Divider
- Aluminum frame
- 2 tone laminate panels
- Greenguard certified
The NBF Espresso room divider will certainly look great in any office environment. It was made using two tone laminate panels with plexiglass on top.
The plexiglass is not clear and you can’t see through it, it’s more like frosted glass. The panel stands on its own and cannot be connected to other panels.
You can move it around without issues, and maintenance will be a breeze.
What customers are saying
People that got these dividers say they look professional and get the job done. It’s important to mention that assembly is required, and you’ll have 19 pieces to put together.
It might sound daunting, but it’s actually pretty easy to assemble them. First, you make the frame, and then you slide the panels inside.
What We Like
- Looks professional
- Stands on its own
- Easy assembly
What We Don’t Like
- You can’t stack it
Best Office Cubicle Door
Quartet Workstation Privacy Screen Door
- Aluminum frame
- Polycarbonate screen
- For cubicles up to 72’’ tall
People that work in cubicles often complain about their busy workspace and difficulty focusing.
The Quartet company tried to solve this problem by creating a frosted screen that disengages the employee from the outside world while allowing some natural light to pass through.
This privacy door was made with a sturdy aluminum frame. The legs have wheels at the end and can be adjusted for height.
The screen was made of polycarbonate and is shatter-free, according to Quartet. It will accommodate cubicles that are 52-72’’ tall, although people report it also works with 48” cubicles.
Accessories
A nice touch to the whole deal is the dry-erase board that hangs from the side of the screen with a built-in space for markers.
Other optional accessories include a hanging file pocket and a 2 month planner.
The biggest issue people have had with this screen door is when they try to open it. The frame that’s attached doesn’t open and close easily and requires two hands to do it.
What We Like
- Gives the employee a sense of privacy
- Height adjustable
- Dry-erase board
What We Don’t Like
- Not meant for heavy use
Other Recommended Partitions
Vivo Free Standing Sound Absorbing Cubicle Divider
Just like the first model on our list, Vivo has made a 3 panel divider that is flexible and allows more options for your workspace.
You can use them as 3 single panels, or connect them with the help of heavy-duty zippers. The material used around the frame is a tacky fabric that allows you to stick memos, photos, etc on it.
The 1’’ thick material doesn’t filter out noise, but it does create an individual space where each employee can listen to music at lower levels.
The only complaint people have expressed is the high price of this product.
Versare 360 Accordion Portable Room Partition
If your biggest concern when getting office partitions is dampening the sound, check out these acoustic panels from Versare.
They will block the noise and can be arranged in various shapes, including L-shape, C-shape, or a straight line. They come with wheels that make them easy to move but can also be locked in place.
The panels can be rotated 360º in every direction and use a 360º hinge. The core of the panels are made with high-density cardboard and feature a honeycomb design.
The overall height of the Versare room partition is 6’ with casters on.
Dkell Room Dividers & Folding Privacy Screens
If you’re looking for a truly unique room divider, we strongly recommend this model. People that work at home use this one a lot, and say it is a very good backdrop.
It’s made of Japanese Paulownia wood, which is known to be lightweight, and it features a fine-grained texture. It’s also warp-resistant and durable.
The hinges on this model are solid, they’re made from stainless steel and rotate 180º. You get 6 shelves to use with the divider and the legs feature silicone pads to help protect your floor.
The divider is 69’’ tall and will accommodate most average-sized people.
GoDear Design Deluxe Adjustable Sliding Panel
The GoDear adjustable sliding panel is very special because it can be used in so many ways. You can make a room divider out of it, a sliding door, a closet door, or a window shade.
It works great in all cases, and the best part is that you can trim it to your desired size. In the end, you frame the trimmed edges with silver rails.
If you’re tired of vertical sliding panels, this will be a nice change. They definitely style-up the room.
An important warning about this model is that it’s 60% paper and shouldn’t be used outdoors.
Things To Consider
As promised, here are some important details to know before buying an office partition. Consider the size of your office, the height of the cubicle, and which design to choose from.
Office size
Before getting a bunch of room dividers, you’ll need to consider the size of the office, the amount of space each employee would need, and how to use that space most effectively.
The best advice would be to talk to your employees and come up with the plan together, if possible. Also, to prepare for the unexpected, always leave some room for new hires.
Height
To get the correct office partition or cubicle you’ll need to take into account the average height of your employees and how much privacy their job requires.
A good rule of thumb is 42’’ for lower cubicles, 53’’ for medium ones, up to 66’’ for tall ones. To get back to the social distancing requirement, taller would be better.
Design preferences
If you’re on a quest to find the best possible office partitions for your employees or simply wish to divide some rooms in your home, always consider the design of the model and its purpose.
Some partitions were made acoustic; they absorb sound. You’ll find semi-transparent screens that allow light to get in, and complete mat dividers that allow for the highest level of privacy.
There are also hardwood partitions that can be used if you want to give your office a rustic look. Think about these things before making your purchase, to ensure the best buy.
