They’re known for creating quality products, but usually at a higher price tag compared to other brands on the market.
So the question is, does Varidesk brand live up to the hype?
We set out to review each of their available products, here’s what we found.
Varidesk Pro Plus 30
The Varidesk Pro Plus 30 was made specifically for people that have limited space in their office.
The first thing you’ll notice is the superior design. It looks sleek, built with high grade materials, and it will last you for a very long time.
Varidesk Pro Plus 30 features an upper desk area where you place a monitor, and underneath a keyboard tray for added space.
Make sure you have enough cord length to raise your mouse and keyboard.
The thing we really liked is its adjustability. You have 11 different levels to adjust the height.
What Customers are Saying
Most people love this desk. They say it’s easy to transition between sitting and standing.
Some people would love to see a feature for additional adjustment of the keyboard area, especially for people taller than 5 foot 10 inches.

Varidesk Pro Plus 36

This model works exactly in the same way as the Varidesk Pro Plus 30. The main difference is the size- you’ll be able to place two 27 inch monitors instead of one.
Both models follow your posture curve and rowing lift keeps the strain off your back.
The two handle design is really easy to use. Both trays are stable, and people leave their coffee on the table while lifting it, because it’s a really smooth process.
The surface of the tray is textured, so you won’t need a mouse pad at all.

It’s easy to think that wires might present a challenge for the Varidesk Pro Plus 36, but this is far from the truth.
Also other standing desks tend to collapse if you lean on them. This one sturdy and will its ground.
Small issue. Most shorter people have an issue with the keyboard placement in a sitting position- it’s a bit high. To fix this issue you can raise your chair or install a separate keyboard tray underneath your desk.

Varidesk Pro Plus 36 (Electric)
If you’re not a big fan of adjusting from sitting to standing every time, then this might be the right model for you.
The Varidesk Pro Plus 36 comes with a Power Hub that does the lifting for you, all you have to do is push a button.
This fancy model comes with a LED display that allows you to monitor the movement of the desk. You can choose between ‘0 and ‘100 for maximum height.
It is also super quite, so if you’re using it in your office you won’t bother anyone.
Other differences between the standard vs electric model
The other significant difference between the standard and electric model is that you get extra keyboard and mouse space.
Also it comes with a ‘wire routing’ feature that includes 4 clips that will support thin cables.
What customers are saying
Most of the people that got this product are beyond happy with it.
They especially love the power hub function, and feel that having the option to stand while working has improved their back health significantly.
The wire routing on the other hand is not people’s favourite, especially if they’re trying to clip on thicker cables because they just fall off.
It is a cheap fix, but one we believe the manufacturer should work on.

Varidesk Pro Plus 48
Another great product from the Pro Plus series that offers an extra tray to place your keyboard. It’s similar to other previous standard models- but it’s 48″ wide, for people that need that extra space.
Just as the other models from this series, it comes fully assembled, but it doesn’t feature integrated cable management.

Pretty much everyone that got the Varidesk Pro Plus 40 agrees that it’s extremely easy to move it up and down.
The unit is heavy, but the weight is considered a plus because you’ll be able to lean on it without worrying it will topple over.
The downside of this product is a slight wobble people experience when they extend the desk, but most don’t find this problematic.

Varidesk Laptop 30
If you don’t have a need for a huge Varidesk unit, and only use a lap top for work, this could be the perfect model for you.
The Varidesk Laptop 30 model was designed for smaller workplaces, but it gives you the same sit/stand freedom and it can be positioned in nine height levels.
This little baby will hold up to 15lbs. and can be easily moved around if needed.
This is a compact unit that features a single tray and two handles that you use for raising or lowering your Varidesk.

The thing that everyone was impressed with is this model flexibility.
You can move it around your home any time you please, and there is enough space to fit a 15 inch laptop & mouse pad comfortably.
You can also take it on the road with you when you’re travelling.
Educators love this product as well, because they don’t have to jump up every time a student needs them.
The only issue we could find – some people have had the Varidesk break within days of usage. But regardless, there is a 5 year warranty.

Varidesk Full Electric Standing Desks
Unlike the other Varidesk models where you place the desk on top of a desk, this one is the whole deal. What you get is a full desk that is electric, adjustable, and very heavy.
Height settings
The Prodesk 48 comes with 3 programmable buttons that can memorize your height preference. The lowest setting goes down to 25.5” and the highest goes up to 50.5”.
You’ll be able to place multiple monitors on the work surface as well as any accessories you might be using. The desk is reinforced with heavy duty steel and will last you a long time.
The assembly should take you 5-10 minutes total.
What customers are saying
All the issues customers might have had with the previous models are fixed in this one. People say this model is definitely a step-up. You won’t be able to move it around due to its weight, so make sure you place the shipping boxes near the spot where you’ll be setting it up.
People that wish a stationary desk will find this one very convenient because it simply doesn’t budge at all.
The surface is NOT made of wood, as some customers discovered to their disappointment. Otherwise it is a quality product built to last.

If you wish to have the largest Varidesk available, this is the one. It is 60 inches wide and made for people that need the most work-space available on the market. The model is similar to the Varidesk 40 Electric in every other way:
You’ll get 3 programmable memory settings, and you can choose between 25.5” to 50.5” inches high. It holds up to 250 lbs and comes with a cable management tray. It also features a steel stability crossbar that turns this model into a tank.
The assembly is super-easy, and all the tools needed come inside the shipping box.

Overall, people love the Varidesk Prodesk 60 and marvel at how stable and professional it looks. The manufacturer must have thought that less is more creating a desk that looks simple and blends perfectly with any spacious work-area.

Varidesk Adjustable Standing Desk Chair
If you’re looking for an adjustable Varidesk chair that will go well with your desk, this one might interest you.
The Varidesk chair features a simple low-back design that can be adjusted up to 32.75 inches. The manufacturer claims that the low profile back will help with your posture as well as keep you active while you work so you don’t slouch.
Once it is raised all the way up you’ll be able to lean on it, which is supposed to also work your legs, back and core. The chair also features a pedestal that allows you to have a wider range of motion. It supports up to 220 lbs.
What customers are saying
We really wanted this chair to work, but judging by the reactions of the customers; it doesn’t live up to the hype. Most people like the overall quality of the materials, but complain that the chair is not comfortable, and sitting on it gives you a feeling that you might fall backwards.
Also, if you’re below 5’5″ the lowest setting is still an inch too tall, and the seat cushion is a bit too firm for some people.
One the bright side, people like the wobbly feeling of the chair that keeps them moving.

Varidesk Anti-Fatigue Comfort Floor Mat
The Varidesk floor mat was made as the perfect companion to their rising desks, and it should keep you comfortable while you stand. It gives support to your knees, hips and back so you can stand longer without getting tired.
The mat’s measurements are 24″ x 36″, which is larger from their previous model. It was made of high density rubber that is 5/8″ thick. Something that sets the mat apart from the rest is its beveled edges that won’t allow you to trip on it.
It only weighs 5.95 lbs, so it will be easy to move it around, or take it with you to the office. If you do take it to the office do not step on it with high heels, it will get punctured.
What customers are saying
We noticed that some customers thought this mat was on the firm side, but the trick is to slowly increase the amount of hours you stand on it. It takes several weeks to adjust to the mat, and people that gave it this amount of time were satisfied.
People find the design pleasing, and the rubber doesn’t stink compared to similar products on the market. If you decide to purchase it, make sure you don’t place it on carpets because it will slide.
Also make sure you keep your pets off it, because they love to chew the rubber material.
On the negative side, if you’re a heavier person this mat might not work for you. People over 300 lbs felt they’re not receiving the much needed cushioning and support.

Varidesk Alternatives
One customer complaint that kept repeating in all Varidesk products was the high price tag, so we thought it would be nice to have reasonable alternatives:
VIVO Height Adjustable Standing Desk Sit to Stand Gas Converter
Similar to the Varidesk Pro Plus series, the VIVO standing desk features a two tier system that can hold two monitors, a keyboard and a mouse. It moves with the help of a gas spring lift and adjusts to 8 levels of height.
The top surface measures 36” x 22” and the keyboard area offers a 28” x 9” surface made at an ergonomic angle suited to help your wrists. You can choose to remove it if you wish. The desk also features a small storage tray to keep smaller objects such as your phone and pencils.
For the fraction of the Varidesk price you get a stable and adjustable desk. The keyboard tray has been re-designed by the manufacturer to address the 1* complaints concerning the keyboard tray falling off.
FlexiSpot M2B Standing Desk – 35″

This model is a bit pricier then the VIVO desk and it doesn’t come towards you when lifted. It simply goes upward in a straight line. It is a bit bigger than the VIVO desk in size, coming up at 35″W x 31.5″D.
The keyboard tray is 35″ x 12.8″ and can be easily removed if you’re not using a keyboard and mouse. It will accommodate people 5’1″ to 6’1″ tall, and it offers 12 height levels. It can hold up to 35 lbs.
Most of the customers that bought this product feel that if offers good quality at a competitive price.
Fezibo Standing Desk Converter- 36”

The Fezibo works using air pneumatics which gives it more stability. It is a great entry level desk for people that wish to experiment with adjustable work space.
The top surface measures 36″ W x 22″ D and the keyboard tray is easily removable. It is spacious and will easily hold two monitors.
You can choose between a manual and electric model. The manual unit that we reviewed comes with small handles that you need to squeeze in order to change height levels.
Some customers say they had to use force while changing height levels on their Fezibo, which is inconvenient. If you experience this issue try adjusting the knob tension a little bit.
Most of the customers are satisfied with the product and its price tag.
Bottom line: Is Varidesk worth it?
We really liked the Varidesk Pro Plus series, and believe that if you can afford it, you should definitely give it a try. It is superior in quality to the other products on the market, and if you don’t feel like it’s good for you, you can always return it free of charge.
On the other hand, the Varidesk chair and mat did not get too many great reviews and it definitely feels like the manufacturer could use going back to the drawing board and fixing the issues that keep repeating.
The Varidesk Company is known for listening to the customers need, and implementing them as soon as possible.
Overall we believe Varidesk is worth it, and it will be your adjustable companion for many years to come.
